How Does the OPENHEAT Power System Work
Share
The OPENHEAT Power System is a cutting-edge solution designed to keep you warm and comfortable with efficient, customizable heating technology. Here's a complete guide to understanding how this system works, from choosing the right power bank to operating your heated apparel.
1. Choosing a Compatible Power Bank
OPENHEAT apparel is powered by an external power bank, which is not included with the product. To ensure safe and optimal heating, make sure your power bank meets the following requirements:
- Type-C Port Required: Your power bank must feature a Type-C output port to connect to the apparel’s power cable.
- Output Specifications: The power bank should support a minimum output of either 5V/2A or 9V/2A.
Important: Using a power bank that does not meet these specifications can result in reduced heating performance or failure to operate. We also recommend only choosing a power bank that is UL-certified as this ensures the highest level of safety for your heated apparel.
2. Automatic Voltage Detection for Optimized Heating
The OPENHEAT system automatically detects the voltage of the connected power bank and adjusts its heating mode accordingly:
- 5V Low Power Mode: Provides gentle, energy-efficient warmth, perfect for extended use. When operating at the highest heating level in this mode, the "O" button glows yellow.
- 9V Full Power Mode: Offers maximum heating performance for intense warmth, ideal for colder conditions. In this mode, the "O" button glows red at the highest heating level.
If your power bank supports both 5V and 9V outputs, the OPENHEAT system will prioritize the 9V output for the best heating performance.
3. Getting Started: Instructions for Use
Follow these steps to connect your power bank and start enjoying the warmth:
- Locate the Battery Pocket: The connection cable with the USB-C port is located inside the left pocket of your OPENHEAT apparel.
- Connect the Power Bank: Plug the cable into the Type-C port of your power bank.
- Turn on the Heating:
- Press and hold the "O" button for 3 seconds to power on the apparel.
- The system will activate the heating zones in Turbo mode for a quick warm-up, indicated by a solid red (9V) or yellow (5V) light on the "O" button and a flashing red "H" button.
- After 5 minutes, the system will automatically switch to medium heat, signaled by a solid white light on the "O" button and the "H" button turning off.
4. Controlling the Heat Levels
OPENHEAT offers three adjustable heating levels to suit your comfort needs:
- High (Red, for 9V power banks, or Yellow, for 5V power banks)
- Medium (White, for all power banks)
- Low (Green, for all power banks)
The lower the heat setting, the longer your battery will last. Ww’ve found a solid strategy in using the higher settings in bursts, a few minutes at a time, then toggling down to a lower heat setting to maintain warmth for longer.
To adjust the heat:
- Short press the "O" button to toggle between the heating levels. The LED light color on the button will indicate the selected level.
- For a quick boost of heat, press the "H" button to activate Turbo mode. Turbo mode lasts 5 minutes and then reverts to the previously selected heat level. Note that the "H" button only functions after the apparel is powered on with the "O" button.
5. Turning Off the Heating
To power off your heated apparel:
- Press and hold the "O" button for 3 seconds. The LED light will turn off, and the heating zones will deactivate.
